  • Step 1 - submit your housing agreement and room-type applications - Deadline March 28, 2019
    • ILS House applications are through a separate process and are due March 8, 2019.
    • Special housing applications for CHOICE (Prairie View), Crossroads (International Center) are available in the housing portal after submitting your Housing Agreement and are due March 10, 2019.
    • Off-campus housing applications are due March 28, 2019. You must also complete all steps below if you do not meet one of the automatic qualifiers.
    • Housing Accommodation forms are due March 29, 2019. You must also complete all steps below.
  • Step 2 - pay your $500 fall registration deposit – Deadline March 29, 2019
    • Note: This is NOT a housing fee. This is the course registration deposit you pay each spring that indicates your intention to return to Gustavus in the fall, and is required to be able to receive a room selection date/time.
  • Step 3 – Assemble Group and Roommate Matching - Deadline: Monday, April 10, 2019
    • After submitting the Housing Application, students should log into Housing Portal, go to Room Selection, and choose Roommates/Suitemates and assemble in groups depending on desired housing type. You will only be able to search for roommates who have submitted for the same housing type. Start talking to your friends/peers about next year and go to the housing portal to request roommates. All roommate groups/pairs are finalized April 8, to allow for assigning each group/pair a room selection time slot based on housing type
  • Step 4 – Make your plan!
    • Review all the housing options for your roommate groups (four, three, or two-person units) and choose a first choice, second choice, third choice. Be realistic in your planning -- four-person apartments and triples will be selected on the first day of room selection primarily by rising Seniors, those who will be Sophomores next year should research your options for doubles. You can view photos and detailed floor plans on the Residential Life web page: gustavus.edu/reslife/residences
  • Step 5 – Receive your room selection time slot
    • See full timeline for opening dates for each housing type.
    • You will receive your selection time at least one day before the housing type you are trying to select. Anyone in your roommate group can make the housing selection at that time - make sure one of your group is available and has your list of choices. You will have a four-minute window to make a room selection before the next group is able to select as well. The selection portal will be accessible 5pm-10pm and your selection time will be within those hours on the day of your selection.
