All Day - Class Visits
Families are invited to attend classes throughout the day and experience firsthand the academic programs with your student. 

All Night: Sibling Slumber Party in the Halls

See what it is like to spend a Friday night with your sibling in one of the Gustavus Residence halls. There will be activities, food, games and more!

9:30am/10:30 - Panels/workshops 

Escape Room
Career Development Office
Your team must find and solve clues, riddles, and puzzles in order to escape the room. Your success depends on using career readiness competencies such as: Critical Thinking, Communication, Teamwork, and Leadership. Just as careers are not linear, escape rooms are not linear - as you explore there will be things that move you forward, and things that may have you take a step or two back. This Escape Room is family friendly (no age requirement)!

Steve Hogberg: History of Gustavus Presentation 
President's Dining Room, Jackson Campus Center
Bring your Gustavus family to meet our Gustavus family as we share a brief background of our rich history. This workshop will include an overview of life on the hill before and after the 1998 tornado.
 
Planning ahead for semester abroad

Many Gusties list their study away program as one of the most memorable and transformational experiences they have during their time in college. Learn more about study away options at Gustavus and how students can get started. We'll talk about program types, locations, finances, safety, and more.
 

10:00am-2:00pm - Admissions Gustie Day+ Belonging 
Heritage Room, Jackson Campus Center
High school students: Interested in seeing if Gustavus is your next step? Check out Gustie Day+ Belonging–an information session, student panel, and campus tour hosted by the admission office. Join other prospective Gusties and explore how you will find a sense of belonging here at Gustavus! 11am-4:00pm - FallFest 
Linnaeus Arboretum
Enjoy games, activities, music, food and fall foliage at the Arboretum Fall Fest. Have a fun-filled day on the beautiful grounds of Arboretum with lots of activities for all ages: Pet real alpacas, go for a hayride, hunt for treasure, play games, explore the Arb, learn from nature discovery activities, and much more. 
 

11:30 am - Carnival Lunch (á la carte)
Evelyn Young Dining Room, Jackson Campus Center
Come enjoy a Carnival themed Lunch á la carte in the Gustavus Market Place. Stop by to see some of the other fun carnival themed activities including a performance from LAUNCH Juggling club.
 

1pm - Trivia 
Courtyard Café, Jackson Campus Center
Stop by the courtyard caf to enjoy trivia and some fantastic gustie themed PRIZES. 
 

1pm - Walking Sculpture Tour 
Meet at the Information Desk in the lower-level of the Campus Center
Did you know that five sculptors whose works appear on the Gustavus campus are said to be part of the a "sculptor succession?" Join the guided Sculpture Walking Tour to visit some of the public and not-so-public works that truly make Gustavus a sculpture garden. If you prefer to explore on your own, a self-guided tour brochure is available at the Jackson Campus Center information desk or in Christ Chapel.

3pm - Central Park Bubbles and Time Capsule Creations
Eckman Mall
This event is fun for all ages! Join us in creating GIANT bubbles, and creating time capsules.
 

5pm - Bingo and pizza 
Alumni Hall, Johnson Student Union
What says “college student” more than free pizza and bingo with prizes? Join the Campus Activities Office for family fun, Gustie prizes, and good old-fashioned bingo! Seating is limited to the first 300 people.
 

8:00 PM - Alex Ahn Electric Violin
Bjorling Recital Hall
Alex Ahn is an award-winning violinist who started playing the violin at 3 years old in Atlanta Georgia. Since starting the violin over two decades ago, he gradually transitioned from the strict structure of classical violin to developing his own free flowing style stemming from the culture of Atlanta. While studying at Emory University abroad in Korea, Alex Ahn discovered his love for performing and upon returning to the States he began playing shows all over the U.S. Time and time again, Alex Ahn shows the violin can be whatever you want it to be.
