Prerequisite Requirements
Dental school requirements vary and can change every year. Students must carefully examine the prerequisite requirements of the schools they are interested in to be current and accurate when registering for courses at Gustavus.
Consult the American Dental Education Association guide for requirements and admission statistics to the 60+ Dental Schools.
Four-year plan for prerequisite courses required for the DAT and for regional dental programs:
- Biology: Four Year Plan Dentistry
- Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Biology track): Four Year Plan Dentistry
- Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Chemistry track): Four Year Plan Dentistry
- Chemistry: Four Year Plan Dentistry
- Undecided? (considering BIO, CHE, BIOCHEM): Two Year Plan Dentistry
Any undergraduate major is acceptable, as long as you fulfill the dental program's prerequisite requirements.
Twin Cities Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery offers a scholarship specifically for Gustavus students pursuing a dental path. The students will be awarded the scholarship in the Fall and Spring semesters each year.
