Fred Easter
Fred was born in Harlem, New York City and educated in the New York school system. He graduated from George Washington High School in 1957. He integrated The Gunnery School, Washington, CT. He graduated from Harvard in 1963 with an AB in History and was awarded a Public Speaking Prize. He earned a master and doctoral degree from the University of MN.

Fred has been employed at Sports Illustrated, Windsor Mountain School, Carleton College, Control Data Corporation, University of California as Executive Director of the MESA Program (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) and is the current President/CEO of The City Inc. in Minneapolis, MN.

Jeff Marshall
Jeff L. Marshall is a native of Houston, Texas. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1975. While at Gustavus, Jeff was involved in numerous campus activities, including the Student Senate where
he served as a representative and later was elected as the first black student body president during his junior year. He was a member of the Black Student Organization and Gamma Phi Omega Fraternity.

Jeff received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in Houston. He is currently teaching in the Houston Community College System.and is president and executive director of a regional based think-tank that keeps the community involved by examining issues on a year-round basis.

Jeff proudly serves as the Area Director for the Houston Chapter of the Gustavus Alumni Association Association where more than 100 Gusties reside.


T Verrett
T Verrett is an Area Coordinator and Head Resident within Residential Life at Gustavus Adolphus College. She arrived August 2003 from Auburn, Alabama where she was the Coordinator of Multi-Cultural Student Services in the Office of Diversity and Multi-cultural Affairs. For two and one half years she assisted the university’s efforts to improve the retention of ethnic minority students on campus. She received her Masters of Education from the University of Southern Mississippi where she specialized in College Student Personnel, and a Bachelor of Arts from Troy State University where she majored in International Affairs and minored in Business.

Ms. Verrett is an active member of the Bloomington Graduate Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Tutu Adenle
Tutu is a 2003 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College majoring in Physics. Tutu was an officer in the Pan Afrikan Student Organization at Gustavus and co-chair of the 2003 Building Bridges Conference. She is currently a graduate student at Marquette University.


Emanda Thomas
Emanda is a 2002 Gustavus graduate. Emanda was co-president of the Pan Afrikan Student Organization and initiated the first Our Story Conference. She is a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
