SIAS 2018

The Summer Institute for Academic Success (SIAS) is a free jump-start program for enrolled first-year Gusties. The initiative invites participants from a wide range of backgrounds and identities (students of color, first-generation, multilingual, etc.), and is designed to offer an introduction to the college journey. The program also helps students get to know the various resources (academic, health & wellness, social), better recognize the surrounding community (on, and off campus), as well as better navigate the nuances of college specific to Gustavus. There is no cost to participate in this program.

SIAS alumni agree that this week is a great way to start college life. One participant put it this way...

"SIAS was a head-start to becoming a college student. I made amazing friends and learned that professors are people and they want to help me. I wish there was a sophomore SIAS, too!"
