Hispanic College Fund

Founded in 1975, HSF provides American families with the financial and educational resources they need to achieve a college education and help America remain globally competitive.

Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund

Since MALDEF's founding, the civil rights organization has supported the next generation of civil rights advocates for the Latino community. MALDEF currently offers: a Scholarship Resource Guide for high school, college, and graduate students; a Law School Scholarship Program for law students; and a DREAM Act Student Activist Scholarship Program for college and graduate students.

National Association of Black Journalists Scholarships

NABJ awards scholarships annually to deserving students interested in pursuing careers in journalism. Scholarships are worth up to $2,500. All applications must be submitted online by the specified deadline.

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute 

CHCI's scholarship opportunities are afforded to Latino students in the United States who have a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities and who demonstrate a desire to continue their civic engagement in the future. There is no GPA or academic major requirement. Students with excellent leadership potential are encouraged to apply.

The Gates Millennium Scholars

The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program selects 1,000 talented students each year to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship to use at any college or university of their choice. We provide Gates Millennium Scholars with personal and professional development through our leadership programs along with academic support throughout their college career.

Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting

The Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting awards scholarships to women who are pursuing Accounting degrees at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels.

Jeannette Rankin Foundation JRF Grant Program

Since 1976, Jeanette Rankin Women's Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to more than 700 women.

Linda Lael Miller Scholarship

Linda Lael Miller will award $10,000 in scholarships to eligible women to pursue their goals of improving their lot in life through education.

National Online Resource Center on Violence Against Women Education

This area features sources of government and private funding that are available to support projects or organizations working to end violence against women, or to provide opportunities for individual survivors.

Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation

In 2013, the Foundation will offer five Education Support Awards of up to $3000 each to assist low-income women with children who are pursuing education or training. 

P.E.O International Philanthropies, or Educational Project

(PCE) was established in 1973 to provide need based grants to women in the United States and Canada whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and/or their families. The maximum one time grant is $3,000 though lesser amounts may be awarded according to available funds and financial need. The grant may not be used for living expenses or to repay loans of any kind. It also may not be used to pay past educational expenses, including those previously paid with borrowed monies, credit card or student loans. While grants may be used for academic and technical courses, they are not intended to cover the cost of prerequisite courses necessary to secure admission into the final program of study. Furthermore, a PCE grant is not approved for use by those intending immediate continuation of their education beyond the program for which the grant is requested: e.g. associates to bachelors or bachelor to masters.

Possible Woman Scholarship

S. Evelyn Lewis Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a woman enrolled full-time and must submit three letters of recommendation, transcript, 150-word essay, and proof of enrollment.

Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund

Women in Defense HORIZONS Scholarship

Through the HORIZONS Scholarship, established in 1988, Women In Defense encourages women to pursue careers related to the national security and defense interests of the United States and to provide development opportunities to women already working in national security and defense fields. The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to further educational objectives of women who are U.S. citizens either employed or planning careers in defense or national security areas. (This is not law enforcement or criminal justice.) The amount of the awards varies each year.

The Women's Independence Scholarship Program

The Women's Independence Scholarship Program, Inc. began as a program of The Sunshine Lady Foundation (SLF) in 1999 and since then has provided scholarships to over 2,000 women survivors of intimate partner abuse.

The Straightforward Media Dale E. Fridell Memorial Scholarship

The Dale E. Fridell Memorial Scholarships are open to anyone aspiring to attend a university, college, trade school, technical institute, vocational training or other post-secondary education program. Eligible students may not have already been receiving or awarded a full-tuition scholarship or waiver from another source. International students are welcome to apply.

American Association of University Women

One of the world's largest sources of funding for graduate women, AAUW is providing more than $4.3 million in funding for more than 278 fellowships and grants to outstanding women and nonprofit organizations.

Congressional Fellowships on Women and Public Policy

WREI awards annual fellowships to a select number of graduate students with a proven commitment to equity for women. WREI Fellows gain practical policy making experience and graduate credit as they work from January to August as Congressional legislatives aides in Washington, D.C. Fellows receive stipends for tuition and living expenses.

Gates Cambridge Scholarships

Gates Cambridge Scholarships are highly competitive full-cost scholarships. They are awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.

Josephine de Karman Fellowship Trust

The Josephine De Karman Fellowship Trust was established in 1954 by the late Dr. Theodore Von Karman, world renowned aeronautics expert and teacher and first director of the Guggenheim Aeronautical Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology, in memory of his sister, Josephine, who passed away in 1951. The purpose of this Fellowship program is to recognize and assist students whose scholastic achievements reflect Professor Von Karman's high

National Science Foundation

The NSF funds research and education in science and engineering, through grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements. The Foundation accounts for about 20 percent of federal support to academic institutions for basic research.

Military Affiliated and Veteran Scholarships

Air Force Association Spouse Scholarship

The Air Force Spouse Scholarship program is designed to encourage Air Force spouses worldwide to pursue associate/bachelor undergraduate or graduate/postgraduate degrees. Scholarships may be used to pay for any reasonable cost related to pursuing a degree. This would include tuition, books, and any remaining money can be used to pay for either transportation or childcare costs.

AMVETS

AMVETS annu­ally awards schol­ar­ships to veterans/active mil­i­tary, their sons, daugh­ters or grand­chil­dren. A son, daugh­ter or grand­child of a deceased vet­eran is also eli­gi­ble. Awarded on the basis of aca­d­e­mic excel­lence and finan­cial need, the schol­ar­ships go to deserv­ing high school seniors, high school JROTC stu­dents and vet­er­ans pur­su­ing a higher education.

Army Emergency Relief Spouse and Dependent Scholarships

Army Emergency Relief maintains two scholarship programs - the Spouse Education Assistance Program and the MG James Ursano Scholarship Program for dependent children. Both scholarships provide financial assistance for students who are pursuing their first undergraduate degree.

Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association

There are six general categories of scholarship assistance available for undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled full time at four-year colleges or universities in the U.S. Please read the information listed below to determine eligibility based on individual qualifications and program. Please apply for one scholarship only. Applicants must be college sophomores or juniors at the time of application -- minimum second-year college students ONLY please. Graduate students must be currently enrolled in at least two semester-equivalent classes at an accredited U.S. college or university. A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent) is required.

Jerry Greenspan Student Voice of Mental Health Award

The Jerry Greenspan Student Voice of Mental Health Award was established to honor a student who is reducing stigma around mental illness, raising awareness of mental health problems on campus, or encouraging help-seeking among his or her peers.

Liljegren Law Military Family Scholarship

The Liljegren Law Group has created the Military Family Scholarship to help our servicemen and women and their families who are continuing their education. Applicants must be a Military member, veteran, or have a parent or spouse who is or was in the military. Must be enrolled at an accredited high school, college, or university in the U.S., carry a "good standing" status, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Maine Vietnam Veterans Scholarships

The Maine Community Foundation established its first scholarship fund in 1984. Now, through the generosity of individuals, community organizations, and businesses that believe in the importance of education, the community foundation awards more than $1.5 million each year from more than 450 scholarship funds. Each scholarship has its own eligibility requirements and review process. Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation exists to provide financial assistance to the children of Marines and of former Marines pursuing higher education at accredited universities and colleges, or vocational schools. National Military Family Association Spouse Scholarship

In order to be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must:

  • Be a military spouse
  • Have completed, at a minimum, a Master's Degree in one of the following degrees (You will be required to show degree completion):
    • a. Counseling
    • b. Psychology
    • c. Social Work
    • d. Psychiatry
  • Must be ready to start or have already started your clinical supervision hours.

Scholarships for Military Children

The Scholarships for Military Children Program was created to recognize the contributions of military families to the readiness of the fighting force and to celebrate the role of the commissary in the military family community.

Sergeant Douglas and Charlotte DeHorse Scholarships

Applicants must be American Indian students who have completed one year of any Army, Navy, or Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training program; enrolled in an Army, Navy, or Air Force Reserve Officer Training Program; must be veterans of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Merchant Marine or Coast Guard; and enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program of study.

Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Scholarships

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War awards two $1,000 scholarships annually for tuition and books to high school seniors and college students (male or female) contingent upon their enrollment at an accredited four year college or university prior to December 31st of the year the scholarship is granted.

Special Operations Warrior Foundation

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) provides college scholarship grants, along with financial aid and educational counseling, to the children of Special Operations personnel who were killed in an operational mission or training accident.

SVA Scholarship Program

To provide Student Veterans of America ("SVA") members the opportunity to apply for a competitive scholarship that will assist them in completing their studies while helping to accomplish their chapter's mission at the local level. While many members of SVA are recipients of the New GI Bill at their respective institutions, many of these students lack adequate funds to pay for school. Groups with access to the VA educational funds often find that the financial burden limits the scope and purpose of their SVA activities.

In order to facilitate the activities of individual members on chapter activities, SVA will provide access to scholarships to facilitate SVA chapter activities on and off-campus. These funds will be managed by SVA and distributed to students on school year basis. SVA will use standard application, standard guidelines and existing system of communication to streamline the request process and ensure mass communications. VA Mortgage Center

VA Mortgage Center.com is proud to now offer five bi-yearly $1,500 scholarships in conjunction with our Military Education Scholarship Program. The process and purpose is simple - many college students currently struggle to meet the financial requirements of pursuing their education, even with the help of financial aid and other scholarship programs. Our scholarships are awarded each year in May and November.

Veterans Education Foundation

Milvets was founded in 1986 with the purpose of promoting loyalty, duty, respect, selfless-service, honor, integrity, and personal courage (LDRSHIP) through continuing education via academic scholarships. The Veterans Education Foundation scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis.

VFW Military Scholarship

The VFW's Military Scholarship program provides scholarships annually to VFW members who are currently serving in uniform or have been discharged within the 36 months before the December 31 deadline.

Women's Army Corps Veterans Association Scholarships

Applicants must be relatives of Army Service Women who are U.S. citizens; must be high school graduating seniors or planning to enroll as full-time students at an accredited college or university; and have 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Selection is based on academic achievement; leadership as expressed through co-curricular activities and community involvement; biographical sketch; and recommendations.
