Rapid Antigen tests are the best test to use at the end of a COVID infection to help determine if you are still infectious.

FREE at-home rapid antigen COVID-19 tests online:

Additionally, the State of Minnesota is offering FREE at-home tests here: https://mn.gov/covid19/get-tested/at-home/

If you live on campus you must add the dorm name and room number to the MN test order form!

Additional ways to get at-home tests:

Rapid antigen tests are available for purchase at the BookMark on campus and at most pharmacies. Most people with health insurance can get 8 tests per month either at no cost or be reimbursed for the cost by their insurance. ASK THE PHARMACIST! These tests provide results in 15 minutes, but are not as accurate as a PCR or NAAT test.

Most test sites require or request that patients call or go online to schedule a COVID test (unless you are experiencing a medical emergency). If you are experiencing a medical emergency please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Gustavus Health Service

The Gustavus Health Service offers a rapid molecular COVID-19 test called Abbott ID NOW. Results are available within 20 minutes. This nasal swab is a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT test) that detects genetic material just like a PCR test. It is more accurate than rapid antigen tests and thus remains the gold standard for COVID-19 testing. Rapid antigen tests are not available in the Health Service.

Mayo Clinic Health System

Mayo offers PCR testing daily in Mankato for anyone who wants to get tested. Test result times vary based on demand. Insurance will be billed for tests collected. Call 507-594-5700 or 507-594-6500 to schedule a test. Visit the Mayo Clinic website for more information.

Hy-Vee Pharmacy (eTrueNorth)

Hy-Vee offers PCR testing via nasal swabs at stores across the country (including the Hy-Vee in St. Peter) for anyone who wants to get tested. Days and time of testing varies by location. Test result times vary based on demand. Go HERE to register and find a time that works best for you. No insurance information will be collected, testing is free at this time through a government funded program.

River’s Edge Hospital and Urgent Care, St. Peter

River’s Edge is only testing individuals who are symptomatic. Patients will need to be evaluated by a provider to determine if testing is warranted. Call 507-931-2200 before going to hospital to determine whether they are able to test you (unless emergency).

Mankato Clinic

The Mankato Clinic offers testing to individuals with symptoms, close contacts who meet the MDH definition for needing to quarantine, and select others who may need a test for a specific reason (ie. healthcare worker or travel).
