The Phillips Scholars Program is a scholarship program funded through by The Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation of Minnesota. The program encourages students to strive to make life better for those with unmet needs. Program scholars identify community concerns, explore ways to create social change, and develop ambitious service projects that benefit Minnesota communities. Scholars generally focus on areas of interest to the Phillips Foundation, such as human services, health, education, the disabled, and eliminating discrimination.

The Phillips Scholars Program is a competitive program. Sophomores from 16 eligible private colleges and universities, including Gustavus Adolphus College, are invited to participate.
