Kelsey Leppert '21Sub-Title
Name: Kelsey Leppert
Graduation Year: 2021
Major: Exercise Physiology
Your Story: I grew up in Faribault, MN, and was drawn to Gustavus the minute after I toured. I loved how tight-knit the community was, the small class sizes, and the opportunities I would have. I knew I would be supported in all aspects of my college life and career. Like many, I was drawn to physical therapy after an injury of my own, but I was able to further confirm my decision through my undergrad coursework and shadowing experiences. The clinics that I shadowed at allowed me to see the hands-on work PTs encounter every day. I applied to graduate programs for physical therapy in the 2020-2021 cycle and will be attending the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities beginning this summer.
Top Five Activities/Experiences:
1. Studying abroad in Spain
2. Shadowing over J-term
3. Sign Language Club
4. Hammocking with friends in the Arb
5. Badminton with Coach Haugen
Advice:
1. Do not be afraid to ask for help! There are so many faculty members, peers, mentors, etc. that care about you and would love to help when you need it.
2. Find things you love doing. Whether it’s a club or class or minor, explore your options and find what interests you!
3. Go to sleep! Contrary to popular belief, you will not be more productive at 3 am than you will after a good night’s sleep.
Future Plans: Attending the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities Doctor of Physical Therapy, starting Fall 2021.
