Your Story: I am from Paynesville, MN, and I always knew Gustavus was the place
for me. I played on the volleyball team at Gustavus and was involved in other
extracurriculars. I had great experiences as the Gustavus Women in Leadership Co-
President, a member of Big Partner Little Partner, the volleyball representative for
Student Athlete Advisory Council, and my involvement with the Pre-PT/Pre-OT Club. I have
absolutely loved my time at Gustavus, and I am so excited to pursue Occupational
Therapy school at St. Catherine’s University.

Top Five Activities/Experiences: (in no particular order)
 1. Traveling with the Gustavus Volleyball Team

 2. Gustavus Women in Leadership Conference

 3. Living with my best friends!

 4. J-Term experiences (Class on campus, Backpacking New Zealand, internship in
Mankato, and backpacking Europe!)

 5. Connecting with and learning from the Gustavus community of faculty, alumni,
professors, and students.

Advice:
 1. Internships, experiences, and shadowing is everything! I learned so much about
the profession and how my passions align with Occupational Therapy. It is great on
a resume and really shows commitment to your future.

 2. Use the resources that Gustavus provides. The Career Development Office and the pre-health
professions advisors are amazing and will truly get you on the right path to pursue your
dream. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Applying to graduate school is stressful, so
lean on the Gustavus community to help you through.

 3. Embrace every moment of your time at Gustavus because it is four of the best years
ever. I encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and try new things during this
time, because amazing things will come from it.

Future Plans:
I am pursuing a Doctorate degree starting Fall 2020 in Occupational Therapy from St. Catherine’s
University in St. Paul, MN.This program is 3.25 years. I am so excited!
