Calli Sizer '20Sub-Title

Name: Calli Sizer

Graduation Year: 2020

Major: Psychology, Minor in Religion

Your Story: I am from Saint Peter, Minnesota. Both of my parents went to Gustavus and I always knew I wanted to be a Gustie. At Gustavus I was able to get a well rounded education, Majoring in Psychology and Minoring in Religion. Through different shadowing experiences I was able to see Occupational Therapists in many different work settings. These experiences strengthened my passion for becoming an OT and I was confident that this was the career for me. After graduating from Gustavus in 2019 I took two gap years and have been working as a personal care attendant(PCA). I applied for schools during the 2020/2021 application cycle and will be attending the University of Minnesota Rochester campus, Occupational Therapy Doctorate program, starting Fall 2021.

Top Five Activities/Experiences (in no particular order)

1: Chapel Choir and Christmas in Christ Chapel

2: Track and Field

3: Gustie Buddies

4: J-Term shadowing experiences

5: Making connections with the community, faculty, and classmates

Advice:

1: Everyone has a different path to grad school. Do not compare your path to someone else's.

2: Ask for help and use the resources at Gustavus. The application process can be overwhelming and there are many people on campus who are there to help you through the process.

3: Be organized. Keep track of your shadowing hours, experiences, and other activities. You will thank yourself when you are working on your application!

Future Plans: Attending University of Minnesota Rochester campus, Occupational Therapy Doctorate program, starting Fall 2021.
