Finding Music Recordings

Digital Sound Online Collection - Most music recordings found in the catalog have been digitized in our "Digital Sound Online" collection and can be listened to by clicking on the "Online Access" link. These recordings are available to current students and employees on campus and off campus by logging in with your Gustavus username and password.

Music Sound Recordings (LP Records) Collection - LP recordings are found in the library catalog and shelved on the lower level of the library in the Audio Visual department. The LPs are for use in the library, and there are several turntables and amplifiers for listening available in the AV department.

Streaming Music - In addition to cataloged recordings, Jazz Music Library and Naxos Music Library offer streaming music. Off campus access is available for this music if you log in with your 14-digit library number (20110...) and last name.

Finding Music Scores

Print scores can be found in the library catalog and are shelved on the upper level of the library in the northwest corner. Scores are also available through the Classical Scores Library link below. The IPA Source link below provides transcriptions and literal translations of opera arias and art song texts.

Finding Videos

Videos are listed in the library catalog and can be searched by title, keyword, director, and in some cases lead actors. A search can be limited to videos by using the format option on the right-hand side of results. Alternatively, you can set the format before you search using the catalog's advanced search option. They are shelved on the lower level by call number.
