Gustavus Academy for Faith, Science, and Ethics

Preparing leaders who cultivate creative alliances between religion and science in order to ethically address contemporary challenges.

Can faith and science work together? YES!

At the Academy, we believe that we need BOTH faith and science to address the ethical issues of our time.

Students who attend the Gustavus Academy for Faith, Science, and Ethics explore the intersection of faith and science while diving into the ethical issues that define our decades. All Academy programs provide opportunities for students to discover how scientists and people of faith are working together to address some of the world’s most pressing problems.

The values that inform our programs are:

  • Formation: We are invested in developing students who are faithful to their values and informed leaders in their communities.
  • Vocation: We believe everyone has unique gifts and talents that can benefit the common good, therefore we uplift these gifts within our students and each other.
  • Wonder: We lead with a posture of curiosity, encouraging questions and making space for awe.
  • Collaboration: We thrive when a diversity of voices are brought together and everyone has a place at the table
  • Justice: We embody and advocate for social structures and systems that are equitable for humans and the environment we share.
