Gustavus Alumni Association
Gustie for Life
The Alumni Association
The Alumni Association is the collective body of Gustavus graduates and former students, counting more than 27,000 members. Each alumnus/a and alumna is a lifetime member of the Association due to their time on “the Hill” and is encouraged to be a Gustie for Life - connected with the College, its mission, and its legacy. Each alumnus and alumna is a “Gustie” and a Gustie is unique. Read more about the history of the Alumni Association.
Alumni Board of Directors (Major strategic planning)
The Alumni Board of Directors is the strategic planning group who serves on behalf of the Alumni Association and its members to advise and support the central mission of Gustavus - preparing students through a liberal arts undergraduate education for lives of leadership and service in society. The Board’s Strategic Committees include: Executive, Students, Recognition, and Classes/Communications/Chapters.
Class Officers (Communication and annual fundraisers for association)
Class officers are the College’s greatest asset to alumni engagement for building class identity, alumni networking, and college affinity. Each class officer is a necessary ally for the continual efforts of supporting and advancing Gustavus and its central mission - preparing students through a liberal arts undergraduate education for lives of leadership and service in society. Each class has five officer roles: President, Vice President/Reunion, Communication, Annual Giving, and Recruitment.
Chapter Officers (Regional affiliations – National and International)
Chapter officers are central to the the Association’s work of deepening affinity for Gustavus and engaging alumni across the globe. Each chapter officer is an important ally in supporting alumni networking and social connections both nationally and internationally. Success chapters have an active and engaged planning committee that organizes regular seasonal events.
Gustavus Young Alumni (Strategic engagement for first decade)
Gustavus Young Alumni may be the most important constituency in the growth of the Association. Young alumni comprise those who have graduated within the last ten years. Through Gustavus Young Alumni, the Association engages our most recent graduates through professional, social, educational and community-service events.
Student Class Officers (Engagement current student focus)
Student Class Officers are the primary connection between the Association and current students, working to cultivate class identity, raise awareness of philanthropy and prepare students to be Gusties for Life. Student Class Officers also work with the Advancement team on the Senior Class Legacy.
