ARTICLE I: Membership Requirements

Any currently enrolled student who wishes to join Gustavus Game Club (hereafter referred to as GGC) may do so, provided they fill out the information form, attend meetings somewhat regularly, and obey the rules and regulations outlined in Article II.

ARTICLE II: Rules

Gustavus Game Club establishes the following guidelines for its members:

  1. The use of intentionally harmful language, whether directed at another person or not, is not permitted at GGC.

  2. The use of physical violence, and any otherwise destructive behavior is not permitted at GGC.

  3. Games which include intense violence, sexual activity/nudity, triggering scenes, or especially vulgar language are not to be displayed (i.e. on a large screen or with loud volume) to other members while at GGC.

  4. Drug and alcohol use is not permitted at GGC. Members should not be under the influence when attending GGC meetings and events in accordance with Gustavus alcohol/drug policies.

  5. Members of GGC will always be included in games when possible, except when the quality of the game changes significantly with the addition of more members.

  6. Members of GGC will strive to enjoy the games they participate in. Toxic language and attitude are discouraged, and consistent toxicity is grounds for repercussions.

ARTICLE III: Officers

GGC Officers and their roles and responsibilities are as follows:

CO-PRESIDENT:

It will be the responsibility of the Co-Presidents to lead the meetings and events, set the agenda for the organization, act as the main administrators of the organization, act as the intermediary between the organization and the school and other organizations, to be the primary point of contact for questions and concerns, to remain in contact with members regarding meetings and upcoming events, to assist the Treasurer in managing the budget and requests to Student Senate, and to approve any relevant actions by other officers.

SECRETARY:

It will be the responsibility of the Secretary to keep an updated list of standing members and their contact information, to keep a list of meeting dates and times, to obtain photos of events and relevant meetings, and to assist the Treasurer in keeping track of financial decisions. In the event that a member's attendance is unsatisfactory, the Secretary will remove them from the list of standing members until they show more consistent attendance.

TREASURER:

It will be the responsibility of the Treasurer to manage the organization's budget, to make requests to the Student Senate for budget allocations and fundraising, to obtain monetary prizes for events, to track all financial decisions made, and to manage the organization's monetary accounts in the event they are created.

RISK MANAGER:

It will be the responsibility of the Risk Manager to understand and assist in enforcing Gustavus Adolphus College Risk policy and Anti-Hazing policy, to warrant that the group will not present undue risk to participants or to the College, and to act as the main peacemaker and arbiter when an event or person poses a significant risk.

EXECUTIVE MEMBERS:

It will be the responsibility of the Executive Members to understand and assist in enforcing the rules and regulations established in Article II when Officers are absent or unable to efficiently deal with a current issue.

GGC Officers (Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary, Risk Manager, and Executive Members) reserve the right to enforce the rules established in Article II and administer repercussions for breaking these rules, including but not limited to: removing said member from the meeting or event, reporting said member to Campus Safety (in the case of alcohol/drug use or especially intense violence or discriminatory language), and suspending or expelling said member from the club.

ARTICLE IV: Elections

Section I- Elections will occur every year in the first week of May, with newly elected officers taking on their roles the following school year. Standing members who wish to run for an officer position must express intent to run before the campaign week, and give reasoning for their choice in the last meeting before the campaign week. Officers will hold their positions for a year, but current officers may be re-elected indefinitely. Each standing member of the organization receives one vote on each position, including officers.

Section II- In the event of a tie, the current Co-Presidents will work with the Advisor to determine who is best fit for the position. When the elected officers take on their roles, the new Co-Presidents may select 1-2 standing members to serve as Executive Members. In the event an officer is deemed unfit to carry on their responsibilities, they may be discharged by a 2/3rds vote between the officers. If an officer desires to resign from their role, they may be replaced by an Executive Member. If no Executive Member takes on the role, then the role may be nominated to a current standing member. If more than one standing member is nominated for the role, the role will be decided by a majority vote within one week of the previous officer's resignation.

ARTICLE V: Amendment Process

Section I- In the event that amendments need to be made to the constitution, the proposed change may be ratified by a 2/3rds vote among current standing members. Such amendments will be added to Article V Section II.

Section II: This section is reserved for amendments, which will follow this clause.
