We the people of Legacy A Cappella hope to share our music with the Gustavus community and surrounding public in order to bring messages of love and collaboration to our peers and elders.

  1. Main Goals
    1. Stay on task
    2. Notify Presidents of absences in advance
      1. In the case of an absence, you will be expected to catch up to the level of your section-mates prior to the next rehearsal.
    3. Respect each other’s ideas
      1. Constructive criticism, not destructive criticism
        1. Remember, we are collaborators! We all need to work together to make this work. It is important to value the opinions of others, even when we disagree.
      2. Take turns speaking, avoid interrupting each other
    4. Work hard and sing well
      1. Put your whole effort into the music. Take breaks when you need and prioritize your health and wellbeing.
      2. Don’t be afraid to take liberties and explore as a musician!
    5. Work collectively to make ourselves the best we can be!
  2. Performance Requirements
    1. Uniform
      1. The uniform for a designated performance shall be designated by the group in advance. Respect this uniform and dress as decided upon in performance
    2. T-Shirts
      1. Members should purchase the designed t-shirt for the group that year.
        1. Members who may need financial assistance to purchase a t-shirt should speak with one of the presidents to work out a solution.
      2. Any member is welcome to submit an alternate design, but this should not become an obstacle to ordering the t-shirts prior to the first performance.
    3. Attendance
      1. All members should arrive on time to the required call time and location prior to a performance. Late arrivals put undue stress on the group!
      2. If the group is approached to do an outside gig, the group will then decide whether or not to do it based on the percentage of the group willing to commit to said event. The rule is that at least 2 members from each voice part must commit to performing. This excludes vocal percussion.
  3. Rehearsals
    1. Attendance
      1. Arrive on time to all rehearsals to the best of your ability arrive on time to all rehearsals unless you have previously informed presidents that you will be late for a specific reason
    2. Attitude
      1. Just like in choir, Legacy is an opportunity to relieve stress and leave whatever might be weighing you down at the door. Do your best to come to rehearsal with an attitude that uplifts other members of the group
  4. Covid
    1. This organization will follow all covid guidelines set in place by the college and additional requirements for Fine Arts covid policies. These include wearing singers masks, staying 6-8 feet apart, facing the same direction while singing, and taking a 10 minute break in the middle of each rehearsal to allow the air to purify.
    2. If any member is not cooperating with covid guidelines, that member will meet with the presidents to determine a course of action that upholds the safety of the group and college.

Legacy Rehearsal Schedule:
