I was inspired to become an educator in the Third Grade. That year, I had a teacher who believed that each student in her room could and would do amazing things with their lives. She viewed each day as an opportunity for us to learn and grow - to be better, stronger, and smarter than we were the day before. She created a safe place for us to learn and was a strong advocate for each of her students, independent of gender or ethnicity.
Here I am, many years later, and still in love with being an educator. During my thirty-nine years in the public and private school systems, I have been privileged to serve with amazing individuals in a variety of settings: as a Classroom Teacher, an RTI Instructor, an Assistant Principal and a Director of Teaching and Learning. I believe each day presents an opportunity for me to grow - to try something new, to think in a different way, or to stretch myself to higher achievement. I believe each day presents an opportunity for me to help others grow - to try something new, to think in a different way, or to stretch themselves to higher achievement.
Education is not the learning of facts, it is the training of the mind to think. Albert Einstein
