Welcome New EmployeesHuman Resources

A Message from the President

On behalf of the Gustavus Adolphus College community, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you! As an employee of the College, you will have the opportunity to play an integral role in helping the College community achieve its goals and mission through its commitment to career-based education and a supportive residential college environment.

Gustavus Adolphus College is a great place. Since 1862, this institution has developed a community of dedicated professionals who are focused on student success, foster engagement and pride within our community and are committed to advancing lifelong learning opportunities for the young adults who study here. Our career-based undergraduate education includes a solid foundation in academic opportunities and experiences which encourages our students to use critical and analytical thinking, all of which lead to the unparalleled success of our graduates.

No matter your role, your work is important in helping Gustavus maintain that excellence and to help us grow.

Our small college culture allows you limitless opportunities to become a driver of change. Over the past year alone, due to the dedication and hard work of our faculty and staff, we have seen the renovation and improvement of campus facilities, technology infrastructure, and athletic and student centers; and the expansion of experiential learning opportunities including international programs, internships and community service, all to prepare students to succeed in a changing world.

We hope your experience here will be satisfying and challenging, helping us to tackle new initiatives and programs. We are here to support you and want you to know that your hard work matters, has impact and is greatly appreciated. Of course, your colleagues in the Gustavus community look forward to getting acquainted with you. May your employment here prove fulfilling, prompting you to take advantage of the many opportunities to contribute and grow, both personally and professionally.

I encourage you to connect with the members of our community, staff, faculty and students, and know they are here to help you learn and acclimate to your new role and to be an active and involved member of our community.

We are pleased you have chosen to join us, and I look forward to personally meeting you soon.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Bergman
President
