The Constitution of the Gustavus Geology Club

Article I-Leadership

Section 1: After accepting a position of leadership, members must perform their duties to the best of their abilities. If a member with a leadership position is unable to fulfill their duties at any time, that individual must communicate their predicament with the president or vice president of the club.

Article II-Ethics

Section 1: The Gustavus Geology Club and its members treat every person with respect. Any words or actions that show disrespect towards members or non-members will not be tolerated and will jeopardize the offender’s status as a member of the Gustavus Geology Club. The Gustavus Geology Club strives to give members both educational opportunities and enjoyable social outlets and lack of respect detracts from both objectives.

Article III-Member Responsibilities and Accomodations

Section 2: Members are highly encouraged but not required to attend events held by the club. It is understood that family, academics, athletics, religious, and other personal commitments are priorities and accommodations will be made in order for all members to have the same opportunities provided that conflicts are communicated with club leadership.

Section 3: The creativity of all members is deeply valued. Members’ ideas for Gustavus Geology Club events will be seriously considered by club leadership. Willingness to share ideas and contribute to event planning directly correlate to the success of the club.
