Paul EstensonFaculty
Since I graduated from high school I have been involved in entrepreneurial ventures. Before I started college I built, sold and repaired guitars. A few years later, I started "Tuxedo Express," a singing telegram business to raise money to pay for my tuition and books. I sold the business and used the proceeds to fund some of my graduate education. I feel that my involvement in business has helped me stay grounded as a professor. I can relate what I teach to business examples that I have encountered in my own enterprises and those that I have been involved with in a consulting role.
My current business, Doc E's BBQ, is a barbecue vending business that I operate with my son Leif, Gustavus '14, throughout the summer. We sell our barbecue at music festivals, town gatherings, county fairs and on the street in Saint Peter.
I am currently joining my interests in economics, barbecue and social entrepreneurship by offering my Doc E's Salsa recipes for use by a group of student social entrepreneurs. I am very curious to see what happens next.
