Canva is an online design and publishing tool that empowers you to create professional-looking posters, flyers, cards, certificates, infographics, slideshows, social postings, and so much more. Learn more tips for designing and printing on campus using Canva.
What is Gustavus Canva for Campus?
Gustavus Canva for Campus is specifically branded for the Gustavus community with ready-to-use colors, fonts, logos, photos, and templates. The Gustavus Marketing and Communication Office has signed a Canva for Campus agreement for the 2024-25 academic year which is available to our faculty and staff who request a free account with the Director of Design Services in the Marketing and Communications Office.
Why should I use Gustavus Canva for Campus?
Gustavus Canva for Campus has been created to empower you to create internal materials when marketing design services are not needed. You will have access to the Gustavus Brand Kit, Gustavus-Branded templates, and thousands of Canva templates for inputting your information and the College Brand. If you are concerned about whether you have any spelling or design errors, don’t worry, your designs will be reviewed with the Marketing Design Team using Canva’s system, which keeps the process organized and quick. This is an easy tool that will allow you to create great-looking branded materials!
Getting an Account
Already have a Canva account?
Many faculty and staff already have personal, free, or paid Canva accounts. As part of your agreement in getting a free Gustavus Canva for Campus account, you are asked to refrain from using any other Canva accounts for materials being created for the College. Brand consistency is important and by using Gustavus Canva for Campus you are ensuring that your materials are within brand standards. If you have Gustavus-Branded materials that you’d like to transfer from your personal account to your new account, we are happy to help guide you in that process.
Request a Gustavus Canva for Campus account
Gustavus Canva for Campus accounts need to be set up with the Director of Design Services in the Marketing and Communications Office. Email Neely Prenzlow to request your Gustavus Canva for Campus account.
Training Options
Canva Design School
Are you new to Canva or just want to learn something new? Take advantage of canva.com/designschool for the many design tools and tutorials that are available to you for free.
Canva Assistant
Another great learning tool in Canva is their AI-powered assistant, which can help you with any questions you may have. Just click on the question mark in the lower right corner and type in your question.

Fine Print
- Gustavus Canva for Campus licenses are for College design use only and not a replacement for any personal Canva account.
- Designs must adhere to Gustavus Brand Standards. Brand Guide and additional templates and assets can be found at gustavus.edu/marketing under Brand Resources.
- Users who repeatedly go outside brand standards are subject to have their Gustavus Canva for Campus license removed.
- Inactive users may have their license removed and reassigned.
