Where the Writers Are

Poets, essayists, novelists, authors of screenplays, short story writers, digital filmmakers: all of these creative writers can be found roaming halls of Confer-Vickner (when they're not lurking around town, tiny notebooks in hand, writing dialogue or character sketches for class). Gustavus has a thriving community of creative writers, offers courses at the introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels, and provides multiple platforms for student writers. We even offer courses that take students out of the classroom and into the real world, like ENG 310: Writing and Nonprofits, or ENG 350: Literary Editing and Publishing.
