CJ Siewert ’11

Director of Communication Services and Sports Information in Marketing and Communication

CJ Siewert, who joined the Gustavus Adolphus College staff in August of 2015, is in his fourth year serving as the Sports Information Director. Prior to his current role as the SID, Siewert worked as a photographer for SPX Sports in Mankato from 2014-15. He also served as a reporter for the Le Sueur News-Herald and St. Peter Herald from 2013-14, and was briefly the editor of the Lafayette Nicollet Ledger in 2013. In 2012, Siewert was the graduate assistant SID at Concordia University, St. Paul. After graduating from Gustavus in 2011, Siewert remained at the College and worked as the assistant SID for the 2011-12 academic year. While a student at Gustavus, Siewert worked in the sports information office for two years and was a website content intern for the Minnesota Vikings from 2010-11.

As the Sports Information Director, Siewert is in charge of all content on the athletics website, including the College’s athletic social media accounts. He and his staff record and distribute official statistics at all home events, as well as live stream most home events. Siewert also handles all media requests and serves as the liaison for coaches and student-athletes.

During the summer months, Siewert operates the website for the St. Peter amateur baseball club.

CJ, a St. Peter, Minn. native, lives in St. Peter with his wife Kayla (Buggert) ’11 and their sons, Teddy Joe and Max. They also have a black lab named Marley.
