Kayla is beginning her second year with the Gustavus Admission Office after an unusual and rewarding year of recruitment through COVID-19. She is passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion on college campuses and leads the admission office's Equity and Inclusion Recruitment Team. She has a passion for working with students who are the first in their family to go to college (first-generation students) and enjoys guiding them through the college search and admission process.

Originally from Chanhassen, Minnesota, Kayla obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Counseling and Student Personnel from Minnesota State University, Mankato. While pursuing her degrees, she was active on campus, served as a student leader, and helped to promote equity and inclusion in her work in Residential Life. She is happy to be a Gustie by marriage, as her wife is a proud alum!

Kayla currently lives in Chanhassen with her wife, Halle, and their cat Bob. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, reading, poetry, cooking, and spending time at her cabin with friends and family in Hackensack, Minnesota.

She can’t wait to meet you!
