Originally from Chanhassen, Minnesota, Kayla obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Counseling and Student Personnel from Minnesota State University, Mankato. While pursuing her degrees, she was very active on campus, served as a student leader, and helped to promote diversity and inclusion in her work in Residential Life. She was able to spend significant time at Gustavus throughout her collegiate experience, as her wife is a proud Gustie graduate!

Kayla is passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion on college campuses. She is excited to support students in making decisions regarding their higher education and to be able to speak to families and students about the Gustavus experience.

Kayla currently lives in Chanhassen with her wife, Halle, and their cat Bob. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, reading, poetry, cooking, and spending time at her cabin with friends and family in Hackensack, Minnesota.
