As assistant to the vice president for institutional advancement at Gustavus, Ann works closely with the vice president on reporting, budgeting, leadership events at the college, fund-raising, and the general details of the office. Ann coordinates events for advancement including President's Dinner, leadership events, solicitation events, inauguration, former trustee events, campaign events and National Summit Meetings of Commission Gustavus 150. Other events she works at includes: Nobel Conference, Symposiums, Homecoming, Reunions, Royal Affair, GIVE Day and more.
Ann began at Gustavus as the assistant in The Gustavus Fund office in September 1997 and was promoted to administrative assistant to the vice president for institutional advancement in April 2000.
Ann (Wenner) is a lifelong St. Peter resident and graduate of St. Peter High School. Ann is married to Jeff Volk and they have three daughters: Jordan (Gustavus Class of '12), Taylor (Gustavus Class of '13) and Bailey (Gustavus Class of '16).
Ann advises Colleges Against Cancer and the Ambassadors at Gustavus, co-chairs the Nicollet County Relay For Life, is a member of the Midwest Relay Advisory Team (for ACS), volunteers at Church of St. Peter, serves on the St. Peter Area Board of Thrivent (President 2011 and 2012), serves as Executive Secretary on the Nicollet County Fair Board, and volunteers at numerous local fundraisers including 4th of July and St. Peter High School All School Reunion.
