Social Security Benefits Informational Webinar...
Are you Ready for Retirement? We know that navigating Social Security's programs can be overwhelming. However, you will be amazed at how easy it is to work with Social Security, to utilize their planning resources, get your questions answered and work with the interactive online tools to ensure you make the right decision on when to apply.

This webinar will provide details not only on the retirement program but will cover the filing strategy options when it comes to spouses, divorced spouses, and widow(er) benefits. We will talk about the key factors to consider when determining the right time for you to file, how you can work and collect benefits and how easy it is to file an application. We will also conduct an overview of the Medicare program, when is it best for you to file for Medicare coverage, do you need to file if you are working and covered under your employer health plan, and what forms do you need if you work and enroll after age 65. These and many other questions will be answered in this session. During the webinar you will be able to ask live questions.

The presenter is Rhonda Whitenack, Social Security Public Affairs Specialist in Minneapolis. Rhonda has been with the agency for 25 years and has vast experience in conducting public outreach education and training. Take the first step in planning for your future by taking advantage of this interactive free webinar provided by a local Social Security employee.
Please plan to attend at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5 in the Board Room, Jackson Campus Center.

Sustainability Tip...
Did you know the Gustavus campus employs several measures of renewable energy, producing electricity solely from the the power of the sun and wind? Our campus employs these techniques through the small wind turbine located near Big Hill Farm and the solar panels located on five different campus buildings: the Interpretive Center, Olin Hall, Beck Hall, Lund Center, and the Campus Center.

-In just one day, the Olin solar panels produce 3.3 kWh of energy, enough to power three full-sized refrigerators for the entire day.
-Since its creation in 2012, the campus wind turbine has generated 14,518,989 kWh of energy, enough to power all the energy needed for the average US house for over three and a half years.

Not only do these renewable energy sources produce energy from endlessly abundant sources, they also cut down on electricity costs. In the seven years the wind turbine has been present on campus, it has saved the campus over $17,000 on its electricity bill. Check out more information on how you can save through clean energy in your own home by clicking here. You can also make a difference by showing support for renewable energy sources in the future.
