Art Scholarship$500-$2,000 annually ($2,000-$8,000 over four years)

Gustavus Adolphus College and the Department of Art and Art History is committed to the liberal arts ideals and the Art Scholarship rewards talent in the visual arts, commitment to the field, and the potential for continued growth. Students do not need to major or minor within the department to qualify for or maintain the scholarship.

To Apply:

Students may apply for the Art Scholarship after applying for admission and receiving access to their Gustavus Applicant Portal.

Early Action Applicants: December 8, 2023 - deadline for Art Scholarship applications. 

Rolling Admission Applicants: February 8, 2024 - deadline for Art Scholarship applications. Please watch your email for the virtual process instructions.

Needed for Application: 

Images: Upload 3-5 photos of your work (in PDF format), which will be used for an art critique by members of the Gustavus faculty.

To Maintain:

Renewal of the scholarship requires taking one course per year in the department of Art and Art History and maintaining a 3.0 in those courses.

Applicants will receive communication from the Art Scholarship Coordinator, Emily Her (eher1@gustavus.edu), after they are admitted to Gustavus. The Application for Admission opened on August 1, 2023.
