Where the College Leaders Are

Here you’ll find the offices of the Gustavus president, academic deans, alumni and advancement, and the Registrar (which keeps records of classes and academic progress), among other departments essential to keep Gustavus a place of learning, work, and business excellence.

What’s Cool About It

During the late 1960s and early 1970s, campus architecture across the nation leaned away from ivy-covered brick and toward concrete bunker. The Edgar M. Carlson Administration Building, built in 1972, is a product of its time. Yet its best features shine bright. It’s named for a beloved former Gustavus president, and it’s darn near fireproof. The previous college administration building burned down in 1970, and with it went a century of student and college records. We are confident this one will help usher Gustavus into the 22nd Century.
