What’s Cool About It

The Edgar M. Carlson Administration Building was built in 1972 and named for a beloved former Gustavus president. It was built to be exceptionally fire-resistant—an important distinction, as the previous college administration building burned down in 1970, taking with it a century of student and college records. This one was built to last, and to help carry Gustavus well into the 22nd century.
