Philosophy Club
We come together to talk about important ideas like right and wrong, what it means to exist, how we know things, and what gives life meaning. You don’t need to be a philosophy major, just someone who’s curious and enjoys thoughtful discussions. Our club is open and welcoming to all students who want to learn and grow through conversation.

Theatre Performance
As a Gustavus Theatre Performance major/minor, you'll perform, create, and design unique theatrical experiences. You'll gain an understanding of the theatre-making process from different perspectives. You'll work on mainstage productions. And you'll be acting in them, of course, on our multiple stages. You'll also dive into the rich history, literature, and theory of drama and performance.

Latin Language
You'll delve deeply into the Roman Republic and Empire through the study of its official language, classical civilizations, and how the modern world continues to reimagine ancient Rome. And through the adjacent Latin Teaching major, you'll prepare to educate others. More on the major, including sample courses, here.

Comparative Literature
Comparative Literature minors explore global texts, cultures, and media across languages (including English). They develop understandings of social, political, cultural, philosophical, and religious functions of literature. Philosophy majors/minors will learn how to approach problems, view arguments from multiple perspectives, communicate clearly with others, and articulate thoughts in a meaningful way. You gain a comprehensive understanding of the major philosophical traditions, ideas, and arguments, along with the skills for critically analyzing them. Sample courses and career paths here.

Accounting
The Accounting major/minor at Gustavus provides an academic background for students who wish to pursue professional positions in accounting or private businesses. It is a great option for those who plan to complete an MBA before getting a CPA license, or do not plan to become CPAs. (See the Public Accounting major for more.)

Arts Entrepreneurship
The minor in Arts Entrepreneurship provides students with an introduction to the skill set required to effectively create, manage, and promote creative programs and institutions related to the arts. It is a minor is available to all Gustavus students.

Exercise Physiology
As an Exercise Physiology major, you'll gain the knowledge and skills for the management of health and fitness programs (in corporate and clinical settings), for personal training and other related careers, and for graduate study in exercise physiology and public health.

Geography
Geography majors/minors draw on natural and social sciences to understand Earth’s environments and how humans respond to and transform them. You'll touch on sustainable land use, migration, globalization, climate change, urbanization, and environmental justice. You can also choose Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as an emphasis, gaining map-making skills.

Health and Physical Education
Health and Physical Education (HPE) majors prepare to work with people of all ages and in many movement-related settings. Those who complete a major in HPE with state teaching licensure are typically preparing for work in K-12 educational settings, such as in Physical Education (Phy Ed., P.E.), and coaching. Religion majors/minors explore life's biggest questions through classroom experiences that foster dialogue between faiths with compassion and respect.
