Gustie Buddies
Gustie Buddies is a mentorship program that pairs Gustavus students and youth with developmental delays from St. Peter and the surrounding communities to provide a safe environment for youth with developmental delays to strengthen personal skills, increase self confidence and build relationships. This will happen through positive and compassionate relationships with Gustavus students who are committed to promoting growth in understanding of themselves and others through dynamic and intentional programming.
Nobel Conference
Since 1965, the Nobel Conference has been bringing leading researchers and thinkers to Gustavus, to explore revolutionary, transformative and pressing scientific issues and the ethical questions that arise alongside them. As the only event in the United States authorized by the Nobel Foundation in Stockholm, Sweden to use this name, it is our privilege to host a space in which we can talk about big scientific questions, and the big ethical issues to which they inevitably give rise.
Tennis and Life Camps
Discover Tennis & Life Camps, hosted at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN—a place where tennis meets personal growth. Their signature philosophy centers on the Three Crowns: Positive Attitude, Full Effort, and Good Sportsmanship, helping campers transfer on‑court skills into life experiences. Health and Physical Education
Health and Physical Education (HPE) majors prepare to work with people of all ages and in many movement-related settings. Those who complete a major in HPE with state teaching licensure are typically preparing for work in K-12 educational settings, such as in Physical Education (Phy Ed., P.E.), and coaching. Majors also pursue graduate study in kinesiology-related disciplines. See sample courses and careers here.

Pre-Actuarial Science
Future actuaries major in Mathematics, Statistics, and/or Economics for careers managing risk in finance, insurance, retirement planning, and economics. You pursue actuarial science at Gustavus with a faculty advisor from the Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics Department who assists you in selecting courses and professional experiences. Pre-Engineering
Future engineers major in Physics, Chemistry, and/or Math, preparing for careers ranging from civil and mechanical engineering to electrical and biomedical engineering. You'll earn a degree in engineering through Gustavus coursework, plus coursework at a school of engineering. (Gustavus has a dual degree program partnership with Washington University in St. Louis).

Theatre Performance
As a Gustavus Theatre Performance major/minor, you'll perform, create, and design unique theatrical experiences. You'll gain an understanding of the theatre-making process from different perspectives. You'll work on mainstage productions. And you'll be acting in them, of course, on our multiple stages. You'll also dive into the rich history, literature, and theory of drama and performance.
Our People
Jared Land
Jared Land faculty member and co-chair in the Theatre & Dance Department where he specializes in lighting and sound design for live performances. Jared's work has been featured with companies throughout the south as well as in New York state and California. Before beginning his career with Gustavus in 2024, he taught and designed for 16 years with the University of Texas at Arlington. He received his MFA from the University of Memphis.

Accounting
The Accounting major/minor at Gustavus provides an academic background for students who wish to pursue professional positions in accounting or private businesses. It is a great option for those who plan to complete an MBA before getting a CPA license, or do not plan to become CPAs. (See the Public Accounting major for more.)
