Jared Land serves as faculty member and co-chair in the Theatre & Dance Department, specializing in lighting and sound design for live performances. He teaches theatrical design, technology, visual history, and collaboration while serving as resident designer and shop supervisor for department productions. As the department's resident lighting and sound designer, Jared designs for all productions, mentors student designers, and leads technology operations in the lighting and sound shop. Outside of Gustavus, his creative work spans theatre, events, and dance companies across the South, New York, and California. Additionally, Jared contributed research to World Scenography Volume 2 (1990–2015) and spent 16 years teaching and designing at the University of Texas at Arlington prior to joining Gustavus.
