Josh Harbitz

I have been a member of the Health and Exercise Science Department at Gustavus Adolphus College since 2009.  I teach both lecture and laboratory courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology and I also teach Medical Terminology.  I really enjoy teaching these courses because of my love for anatomy and physiology, but also because I have the opportunity to work with students with majors from many departments around our college (Health and Exercise Science, Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, etc.).  Most students who take the courses I teach are pre-health professions majors and intend to continue their education after Gustavus in graduate schools for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, Medicine, Dentistry, Osteopathy, etc.  In addition to teaching, I am also the faculty advisor for the Pre-Physical Therapy/Pre-Occupational Therapy Club.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Kiki Harbitz (also a Human Anatomy and Physiology instructor at Gustavus Adolphus College) and our three sons.  I enjoy many outdoor activites including hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting.  I also enjoy training for and competing in triathlons and running events.
