Associate Head Baseball Coach in Athletics

Andrew Woitas joined the Gustavus baseball coaching staff in 2018 as a full-time assistant. Woitas, a 2010 Gustavus graduate, returned to his alma mater after spending the previous seven years as an assistant baseball coach at Minnetonka High School. During that time, Woitas also coached a youth baseball traveling team, the Minnesota Blizzard.

In addition to coaching in the diamond, Woitas assists the Gustavus recruiting efforts while handling logistical elements such as budgeting and travel arrangements.

The Sleepy Eye, Minn. native earned MIAC All-Conference honors his senior season after starting all 38 games as an outfielder or pitcher. He batted .406 and led the team with 52 hits, seven doubles, three triples, and 65 total bases. Woitas’ 128 career hits rank 16th in program history and his 141 career games played is 11th.

Andrew is an independent broker through Mutual of Omaha with a primary focus on health insurance. He and his wife, Bridget (Burtzel) ’09, have two daughters, Olivia and Emma.
