Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training:
Students working on research projects that are externally funded by a government source (federal, state, or local) are required to complete Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training online and attend an in-person RCR training (Students must complete the online CITI training before attending the In-Person RCR training). Please visit the Research Ethics page for instructions to complete the training and to schedule an in-person RCR training.
Required Lab Safety Training:
All laboratory users should complete the online laboratory safety course annually before working in labs. Below are the instructions to sign in and complete the course. Please let your supervisor know if there are any difficulties with the links. We are now using the CITI Program Lab Safety courses, which are specifically selected based on the learner group you're in (students, faculty/staff).
1) Please click on this link: CITI Program
2) Log in, or register. When you register, you first select Gustavus Adolphus College as your institution, then follow the remaining prompts. Please note that Gustavus no longer uses SSO with this website. So new users to this system will need to register an account and select Gustavus Adolphus College as their institution during the registration process to see the relevant training courses.
3) Click on the "My Courses" tab in the upper right-hand side of the page.
4) On the new page that opens, find Gustavus Adolphus College and click on "View Courses."
5) Scroll to the bottom of the page to a box labeled "Learner Tools for Gustavus Adolphus College" and click "Add a Course"
6) For the Lab Safety courses, Answer Question 8 regarding your role as a student or faculty/staff.
7) For undergraduate students, the course you will be taking is: Lab Chemical Safety–Students. For faculty/staff, the course you will be taking is: Lab Chemical Safety–Faculty/Staff.
8) Your course should populate the list of courses you are required to take.
