A Royal Affair

Peter Breitmayer - Emcee

Peter BreitmayerAfter graduating from Gustavus in ’87, Peter spent his formative professional years as an actor in Minneapolis performing on stage, in commercials, on film and TV and in voice over, putting his Religion major/History minor to work. During those eight years in the Twin Cities he spent three at Dudley Riggs Brave New Workshop cutting his teeth performing and writing sketch satire and doing improv.

Since arriving in Los Angeles he has built an extensive body of work on screen, produced theater and worked in various stage productions - notably the Minnesota home-grown Triple Espresso (with runs in San Diego, Portland, Minneapolis, Dublin IR, etc.)

Recent TV credits have been Recurring roles in the award winning series’, Fargo and The Middle; TV pilots you haven’t seen and may never will; Guest Stars on I’m Sorry, Documentary Now, Stuck in the Middle, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy, CSI, How I Met Your Mother and many more. Some films include Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, film fest darling Coffee, Kill Boss, the Coen brothers A Serious Man and Clint Eastwood’s Changeling, among numerous others (Think and Grow Rich: The Legacy, Horrible Bosses, Fun with Dick and Jane, and The Smosh Movie). As President of Pumpkin Eater Productions he’s produced a critically acclaimed production of Almost, Maine in Los Angeles and has a number of other pans in the fire that Peter hopes see the light of day.

Most of you may recognize him as “Bill” the rival A-Nother Insurance guy in the Progressive ads.

Married to Michelle Pedersen (Gustavus class of 1991) since 2000, the two of them have a great kid named Jackson who is turning out to be just the kind of “odd” they like. Peter is a proud Gustie and could not possibly be more honored to support the mission of Gustavus and host this wonderful and worthy event. He knows the closest he’ll ever get to a Nobel Conference stage is a folding chair in row 27 of Lund Arena, so this event is the next best thing by far.
