Improve Your WritingCenter for International and Cultural Education
Writing is one of the most important skills you will develop in your coursework. At Gustavus, we have a Writing Across the Curriculum program, which means you will improve your writing throughout your major coursework, throughout your time here, focused on the way writers in your discipline write. There are many things you can do to be proactive in your writing development.
You can improve your writing through one-on-one consultations with a peer tutor at the Writing Center or through individual instruction and guidance with Pam Pearson. Pam will also host periodic workshops around writing success.
You can ask professors in your department for help with writing in your discipline.
Keep an eye out for Becky Fremo's Writing Process course, offered occasionally through the English department. You can also practice writing in Pam's Academic Success course.
Reach out to the library faculty for help with research papers; they have lots of experience helping students.
