Major: Chemistry, with Biology minor

Your Story: My name is Kimberly Rostvold and I grew up in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

I chose Gustavus for its strong science departments and small town location. I also knew I could run cross country and track here!

My interest in pre-dental started my sophomore year of college. I did a January Interim career exploration at a local dental clinic (St. Peter Family Dental Center) and couldn’t get enough of the field!

My most influential experience at Gustavus confirming pre-dental path was my January Interim Career Exploration because I was able to observe the whole spectrum of the dental field over the course of a month. Spending 35+ hours per week for a month allowed me to learn the basics of the dental profession.

Advice:

• Always be looking for or taking part in unique dental or service opportunities
• Allocate a few solid months to study for the DAT
• Take advantage of all the opportunities at Gustavus while you’re here!
• Study hard and do well in your classes

Future plans: Attending Dental school @ the U of M Twin Cities
