Jared Land
Jared Land faculty member and co-chair in the Theatre & Dance Department where he specializes in lighting and sound design for live performances. Jared's work has been featured with companies throughout the south as well as in New York state and California. Before beginning his career with Gustavus in 2024, he taught and designed for 16 years with the University of Texas at Arlington. He received his MFA from the University of Memphis.

Anna Versluis
Dr. Anna Versluis is Professor of Geography and Environmental Studies and teaches in the Latin America, Latinx, and Caribbean Studies (LALACS) Program as well. She is a geographer interested in how societies imagine and engage in relationships with the land. Her studies span responses to natural disaster, land cover change, absentee farmland ownership, farm consolidation, the Haitian counter-plantation, and decolonial land ethics. She teaches Environmental Geography, Nature & Society, and Political Ecology, among other courses.

Geography
Geography majors/minors draw on natural and social sciences to understand Earth’s environments and how humans respond to and transform them. You'll touch on sustainable land use, migration, globalization, climate change, urbanization, and environmental justice. You can also choose Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as an emphasis, gaining map-making skills.
