Adjunct Assistant Professor of Trumpet in Music and Music - Winds, Brass, and Percussion

A native of Fresno, California, Jonathan Brandt joined the faculty of Gustavus Adolphus College in the fall of 2014 as Adjunct Instructor of Trumpet.  Since 2011, Mr. Brandt has served as a faculty member of the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan.  As an active freelance musician, Mr. Brandt has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Fresno Philharmonic, the New World Symphony, and the South Dakota Symphony.  Mr. Brandt is a founding member of the Novus Brass Quintet, which was awarded the prestigious Saunderson Award at the Coleman Chamber Music Competition.  Additionally, the quintet has performed extensively at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival.  Mr. Brandt has recieved degrees from the University of Minnesota, Rice University, and the University of Southern California.  His principal teachers include Boyde Hood, Marie Speziale, and David Baldwin.
