Coleden Wedge ’20Alumni and Staff
Coleden Wedge, originally from Waconia, MN, graduated from Gustavus in 2020 with a degree in Instrumental Music Education. Upon completeing his student teaching in Buffalo, MN, he returned to his alma mater in January of 2021 as the Interim Director of Fine Arts Programs. Coleden served as the Interim Director of Fine Arts for six months until he accepted a full time position as the Music Tours Manager and Assistant Director of Fine Arts Programs in June of 2021. In August of 2025, Coleden's position moved from the Marketing and Communications office to the Center for International and Cultural Education with the new titile of Manager of Music Tours and Fine Arts.
In his current role, Coleden serves the College in a variety of ways. His primary job is the planning and execution of the regional, national and international tours for the four touring ensembles at Gustavus that travel each year as well as planning the next two years of tours for each group. In addition to his work as the Manger of Music Tours, Coleden also oversees Björling Recital Hall and all performances and events that happen there. Coleden also supervises the Fine Arts student staff that assist with managing all music, theater, dance and art performances and events that happen accross campus.
As a Gustavus student Coleden was highly involved in the Department of Music. He was a four year member of the Gustavus Wind Orchestra percussion section, a three year member of the Choir of Christ Chapel and a one year member of the Gustavus Choir. During his time with the Gustavus Wind Orchestra Coleden had the privledge of traveling to Norway and Sweden in 2018 for the ensembles international tour where they performed in some of the most prestigious performance venues in those countries. Coleden also performed with GWO when they were invited to the Minnesota Music Educators Association Midwinter Clinic in 2018 and the College Band Directors National Association North Centeral Division in 2020. In addition to his time spent in the music and education departments, Coleden also spent three years as a Collegiate Fellow in Norelius Hall where he worked directly with First Year students and helped them adapt to living at Gustavus.
Outside of Gustavus Coleden can often be found on the golf course (usually anwhere except the fairway) and loves spending time outdoors with his family. He is also an avid fan of puzzles and LEGO which occupy much of his free time during the winter.
