# Barbara KaiserEmeriti

In 1984, I joined the Mathematics Department. Shortly afterwards, I attended an IFRICS program to retrain in computer science. I've been teaching math and computer science courses ever since. During the late 1990s, Karl Knight, Max Hailperin, and I co-authored a text book, which was published in 1999. I've been on more committees than I can remember, and participated in two of the College's mentoring programs. In 2006 I received the Faculty Service Award. In the summer of 2008, I attended an MAA/PREP workshop on using the modified Moore method to teach mathematics using inquiry-based pedagogy and then taught a a course in combinatorics that used these techniques. I joined the Provost's office in July, 2009, and was Associate Provost and Dean of Academic Programs until July 2012, when I returned to the Math and Computer Science Department.

I live in St. Peter with my husband, Karl Knight.
