Alumni Donor Faculty Prospective Student Public Staff StudentJoin us to hear from Jay Willis, a writer and editor who covers law, politics, and democracy, as he takes a clear-eyed look at the Supreme Court’s claim to being a “nonpartisan” institution. Willis will walk the audience through several high-profile decisions to examine how these rulings align with long-term Republican interests. Rather than arguing that justices should be apolitical, he invites the audience to reconsider the idea that the Court is simply “doing law, not politics.” The talk encourages a more realistic and honest understanding of the Supreme Court as an institution shaped by the people who serve on it.
