Sneak a PeakTeam Building Activity
Materials:
- Picture colored in with different types of coloring utensils/colors
- Blank picture
- Coloring utensils (crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc.) that match the above picture plus extras
- Processing questions
Group’s Objective:
- Exactly replicate the colored picture
Facilitation:
- Tell the participants to sit around the blank coloring sheet and coloring utensils and number off.
- Tell the group they will be coloring the picture, but must color it exactly as it is done in a hidden example.
- Choose 2-3 people to color
- Everyone else will take turns going to the picture and observing for 30 seconds.
- They will then need to report back to the people coloring and the next person will observe.
- The describer will only have until the next person returns to describe the picture.
- Example: Person 1 observes for 30 seconds, once they start describing, person 2 goes to observe, once person 2 comes back, person 1 goes to the end of the observing line, etc.
- They will then need to report back to the people coloring and the next person will observe.
Processing Questions:
- What were your thoughts during the different roles in this activity (observing/describing, coloring, waiting, etc.)?
- How did trust play into coloring the picture?
- What was most frustrating in this activity?
- What did our group or you do to overcome these frustrations?
- How can you relate this activity to our work with each other and our residents?
