Bridge BuildTeam Building Activity

Materials:

• Two sets of identical LEGOs
• Processing questions

Group’s Objective:

• Build a bridge together

Facilitation:

1. Split the team into two groups
2. Tell the team that their job is to build a bridge, with each of the groups building half of the bridge
3. While building, the groups cannot see each other’s work
4. The groups must communicate to make an identical design that will fit together
5. The completed bridge must be symmetrical
6. The group will have 10 minutes to build

Processing Questions:

• What did you find most difficult about this activity?
• How did you decide on a method to build?
• Who was responsible for communication? How did you come to that decision?
• Did you select a leader as a group, or did someone emerge as a leader?
• Did any miscommunication happen? How did you get back on track?
• What is the biggest takeaway from this challenge?
