Britt Stewart, a native of Minnetonka, Minn., has been named the head softball coach at Gustavus Adolphus College, which was announced Tuesday by Athletic Director Tom Brown. Stewart most recently completed her third season at Southwest Minnesota State University where she was the lead pitching and assistant hitting coach.
Gustavus Adolphus College is hosting an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Summer Circuit event Friday through Sunday, July 1-3. The Gustavus baseball program is set to host its eighth annual golf fundraiser on Monday, July 18 at the Le Sueur Country Club. Check-in and lunch starts at 12 p.m. and the shotgun start is 1 p.m.
The Gustavus women’s hockey team welcomed 80 alumni, family, and friends to its annual golf tournament on June 20 at the Le Sueur Country Club. The annual tourney helps raise funds for the women’s hockey program, which mostly includes general expenditures, but this upcoming season will help pay for the Gusties’ trip to Europe.

Recent Gustavus Adolphus College graduate Alyssa Taylor (Trimont, Minn.) has been selected as a candidate for the 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year award. Taylor was a standout middle hitter for the Gustie volleyball team, earning AVCA Third Team All-America honors in 2015 as well as MIAC Player-of-the-Year.
