Pre-Occupational Therapy

You'll major in Exercise Physiology and/or Psychological Science for a future as an occupational therapist. You'll get a strong academic foundation in the classes needed for grad school, plus the freedom to explore a range of electives. It's an ideal blend of academic rigor, supportive community, and immersive campus experience. And the Office of Health Professions provides comprehensive support, from prerequisite course requirements to graduate school applications.

Pre-Law

Many majors support legal fields, including (but not limited to) Political Science, History, and Psychology. Courses cultivate problem-solving proficiency, critical reading, articulate writing, and effective oral communication. Psychological Science

Psychological Science is foundational to tackling society’s big questions and challenges, from prejudice to multi-sensory perception and memory. As a Psychological Science major, you will be immersed in experiential learning courses that put science and research into practice. You will learn to test and interrogate psychological research questions, lead experiments, collect and analyze data, and present their findings.

Sport Management

Majors/minors in Sport Management learn the business of professional, international, collegiate, youth, and community sport while developing the knowledge and skills necessary to work in the sport industry. Students consider questions related to ethics, diversity, equity, and inclusion in sport. Sample courses and career paths here.

Eastern European and Eurasian Studies

Major/minors in Eastern European and Eurasian Studies dig into geo-political relationships and influences at work in Eastern Europe including languages, literatures, cultures, civilizations, histories, and economics. Check out sample classes and career opportunities.

Comparative Literature

Comparative Literature minors explore global texts, cultures, and media across languages (including English). They develop understandings of social, political, cultural, philosophical, and religious functions of literature. You'll major in Physics and/or Chemistry, developing critical thinking and analytical skills, plus a broad understanding of the world, as well as personalized guidance from a faculty advisor for pre-material science to prepare you for graduate education in materials science programs.

Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies

As a GWSS major/minor you will examine gender and sexuality as cultural and social categories that organize and shape human experience. You will also explore how they intersect with other social differences such as race, class, ethnicity, nationality, religion, ability, and age. Sample courses and career paths here.

You'll major in Biology and Chemistry, gaining a strong academic foundation in the core classes needed for graduate school, plus the freedom to explore through electives. You'll have academic rigor, a supportive community, and an immersive on-campus student experience. Plus, the Office of Health Professions supports future optometrists, from first steps to grad-school applications.

Pre-Physical Therapy

Students studying pre-physical therapy major in Exercise Physiology and/or Biology on their way to leading rehabilitation treatment programs for sports and other injuries. You'll get a strong academic foundation in the core classes needed for PT and orthopedic PT school, plus the freedom to explore through electives. You'll also be supported by the Office of Health Professions, from prerequisite courses through grad school application.

Pre-Architecture

Students interested in becoming architects pair a major in Studio Art with Physics, Environmental Studies, and/or Geography majors. You'll study spatial design, construction technology, sustainable practices, and cultural considerations of architecture and architectural advancement. Plus, a faculty advisor from the Art and Art History Department will assist you in selecting classes that explore the art and science of spaces and creating a portfolio of projects in preparation for graduate study.
