Jeff AndersonStaff
Jeff is an advisor for international students and faculty. He has been at Gustavus since 2001. Jeff has a B.A. with a math major from Saint Olaf College, a B.S.T. with an English major from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a J.D. from Hamline University School of Law. After serving as a law clerk for judges in Watonwan, Brown and Redwood Counties, he decided not to practice law. Changing careers to international and cultural education has been very rewarding, and his law background has been helpful in the portions of his position that involve immigration law.
Jeff is actively involved in NAFSA: Association of International Educators and MIE: Minnesota International Educators. He has traveled for work and pleasure to India, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and throughout the United States.
Jeff is married to Sheila Anderson, a nurse practitioner for the Saint Peter Clinic – Mayo Health System. They have four children: Maggie, Lilly, Greta and Marty. Our family is fortunate to know so many wonderful students from all over the world and to be part of the Gustavus community. Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, travel, hiking, camping, photography, basketball, golf, tennis, cooking and eating spicy foods.
