1. Members continued their conversation regarding the compensation study being conducted by Gallagher. Cabinet members will be meeting with Human Resources staff in the next week regarding any questions they might have concerning the study. Next steps will be discussed at an upcoming Cabinet meeting.
2. Discussion was held regarding admission and student recruitment strategies for this year and beyond.

Gustavus Eco Fair...From 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, November 18, the sustainability interns will be hosting the first Gustavus Eco Fair. Its purpose is to highlight energy and knowledge surrounding environmental work and campus sustainability. Departments from across campus will be present to engage with students and faculty on various topics relating to sustainability at Gustavus. For more information email g-sustainability@gustavus.edu
Plastic Bag Collection Competition...On November 15, National America Recycles Day, the Book Mark will launch a plastic recycling challenge in partnership with TREX, a wood-alternative manufacturer. The Book Mark will collect various forms of plastic that can be recycled instead of thrown away. If Gustavus can collect 500 lbs of plastic by Earth Day, we will receive a TREX bench. Holiday Angel Tree...The annual Holiday Angel Tree, supporting children in Head Start, is up and located outside of the Community Engagement Center. Please stop by, pick up a tag, purchase the gift requested by a youth (ages birth-12), and return it wrapped with the tag to the Community Engagement Center by Wednesday, December 11. Do your holiday shopping and make it a little brighter for a child in Saint Peter!
Lucia Festival - Invitation to Employee Children...Employee children in kindergarten, first grade, or second grade are invited by the Guild of St. Lucia to participate in the Lucia Festival. The festival is on Thursday, December 12 from 10-10:30 a.m. in Christ Chapel. As a participant, your child will wear a festive costume, walk and sit in front of the Chapel with Lucia and her court for the Lucia Festival Chapel service. There is also a mandatory rehearsal from 6-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11. Space is limited. If you are interested in your child participating, please contact Sarah Anderson.
Story Night...Join the philosophy department and the Philosopher's Guild for a story night on the theme "It's the Little Things" at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, in the Arb Interpretive Center. Come tell a five-minute true story. Groundrules: no notes, make it about yourself, stay within five minutes. There are no prizes given or glory bestowed, just a night of good stories. All storytellers are welcome.
Gymnastics Open Gym for Youth...Gustavus Women's Gymnastics is hosting a Youth Open Gym on Friday December 6, from 6-9 p.m. in the gymnastics studio. It is open to all kids ages pre-k through 12 years old. The cost is $20 per child or $40 for two or more from the same immediate family. The Youth Open Gym will be staffed by members of the gymnastics team and supervised by the coaching staff. Please contact Aryn DeGrood (abell5@gustavus.edu) with any questions or to pre-register your child(ren).
Thanksgiving Baking Orders...Over the river and through the woods, AND up the hill, the Dining Service bakery is getting ready to start their Thanksgiving baking. Our bakers will be making delicious assorted pies, breads and rolls. They are also making fall themed decorated jumbo cookies again this year! To place your order stop in the Dining Service Office and pick up an order form. Last day to order is Wednesday, November 20; payment must accompany the order. May your Thanksgiving be filled with love and cheer, but also with full tummies. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you from Dining Service!
Christmas in Christ Chapel - Limited Tickets Available... Christmas in Christ Chapel tickets are still availble for Thursday night. All other services are sold out. Even if you don't attend the service, you can still attend the buffet. Tickets for the Scandinavian-style meal are available prior to every service. Christmas in Christ Chapel Volunteers Needed... Ushers Needed for Christmas in Christ Chapel at all five services to help host 1,000 attendees. Help is needed from 6-7:45 p.m. Thursday December 5, 6-7:45 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2-3:45 p.m. and 6-7:45 p.m. Saturday, December 7 and 2-3:45p.m. Sunday, December 8. Employee Wellbeing...Wellbeing For Employees is running a new program this year titled "Maintain Don't Gain." The program runs November 18-December 22 (five weeks in total) and the goal is to not gain weight during the holiday season. Those who complete the entire program will earn a Gustavus t-shirt that will be available for pick up in January. Please contact Lexie Eggert if you would like to sign up or if you have any questions.

Inside Gustavus is a newsletter for Gustavus Adolphus College employees produced by the Office of Marketing and Communication. It is published weekly during the academic year (except during the week of Thanksgiving, the Christmas break, Touring Week, and the Spring and Easter breaks). Anyone may submit items by filling out an online submission form. While online submissions are preferred, items may also be submitted typewritten on a letter-sized sheet of paper. Send "snail mail" items to: Inside Gustavus, Office of Marketing and Communication. Items must reach the office no later than 4:30 p.m. on the Tuesday before publication.
