  • How should items be submitted? Fill out an online news submission form, click the Inside Gustavus box, and click the submit box.
  • What is the deadline? It is preferred that all submissions must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on the Tuesday prior to publication. There may be some exceptions.
  • Who may submit items? Anyone who has pertinent news or information for the campus community. Keep in mind that the newsletter is not a vehicle for personal thank-yous or a market for local businesses. The editor retains the right to edit material and refuse material deemed inappropriate.
  • How many times may an item run? Generally, twice, so plan your event and promotion accordingly. Sometimes we can run an advance notice (perhaps 6-8 weeks out) and then run two closer to the date of the event.
  • When is the newsletter distributed? Each week of the academic year except during the week of Thanksgiving, the weeks of Christmas break, Touring Week, and the week of spring break. You will receive an e-mail when the most current edition of Inside Gustavus is available online. You can always read the most current edition and editions from years past at gustavus.edu/news/insidegustavus.

Calendar Submissions and Gustavus-L... A reminder for members of the campus community about submitting events and announcements to the College calendar and how they appear on the gustavus-l email. Here are some helpful hints and instructions and, as always, feel free to call the Office of Marketing and Communication (933-7520) for further help.

  • To submit events and announcements to the College calendar and gustavus-l, go to gustavus.edu/calendar/?pr=submit.
  • When you submit an EVENT it will appear on the calendar and gustavus-l after it is approved, but will only appear on the date of the actual event.
  • You can also submit an ANNOUNCEMENT about an event to help publicize the event and drive attendance. The announcement would have all the details of the event in the description, but it would say "save the date" or "plan to attend" in the body of the announcement.
