Dave Stamps was the featured director of the 2015 Central Lakes All-Conference Jazz Festival held at Sartell High School.
Maddalena Marinari (History Department) presented and served as commentator at Immigrant America, a conference at the University of Minnesota commemorating the 50th anniversary of the passage of the 1965 Immigration Act, the founding of the Immigration Ethnic History Society (IEHS), and the creation of the Immigration History Research Center (IHRC). An elected board member of the IEHS, she was part of the joint organizing committee for the conference, which drew over 200 migration scholars from across the country.

Tickets are now available online at gustavustickets.com or by calling 507-933-7590 for the Anderson Theatre production of Argonautka: The Voyage of Jason and the Argonauts by Mary Zimmerman, directed by Henry MacCarthy. Performances will be held Nov. 5-7 at 8 p.m., with a matinee performance on Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. Gustavus students and staff are entitled to one free ticket for the production. Other tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for senior citizens and other students. Tickets not sold before the event will be placed on sale one hour prior to curtain at the Anderson Theatre box office.

If you want to make any changes to medical, dental, life insurance, or 403(b) optional salary reduction, you must log in to WebAdvisor to enroll by Nov. 9. If you wish to enroll in the 2016 Medical FSA, the 2016 Dependent Care FSA, or the HSA, you must log in to WebAdvisor to enroll by Nov. 9.

The 27th Annual Honor Band Festival will bring nearly 250 high school musicians from 30 high schools in Minnesota and Wisconsin to the campus for 2 days of workshops, clinics, rehearsals and music-making. Monday's festival concert will include performances by 2 concert honor bands, 1 jazz honor band and the Gustavus Wind Orchestra. James Patrick Miller is managing the festival.

Mankato Area Lifelong Learners, in partnership with Gustavus and MNSU, provides opportunities for individuals 50 and older to engage in enriching educational activities in the company of friends and peers. Obituaries
Nadine Zuhlsdorf, former Administrative Assistant for the Chemistry and Geography Departments, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015. She had recently been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer with tumors in her lungs and her brain. She greatly appreciated all of the visits from friends. The funeral will be on Saturday, Oct. 31 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mankato with visitation an hour before the service.

Preaching in Congregations... Reverend Grady St. Dennis will be preaching and leading an adult forum on "Cultivating Servant Leaders" this Sunday, Nov. 1 at Messiah Lutheran Church in North Mankato.
Exploring Religious Questions Series: "The Power of Music in Religious and Spiritual Life and for Human Health and Well-being: Wisdom from Musicians, Religious Thinkers, ad Psychologists"... This mini course continues from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, in Olin Room 103. Sponsored by the Gustavus Adolphus College the Office of Church Relations; and the Bernhardson Chair communities today.

Inside Gustavus is a newsletter for Gustavus Adolphus College employees produced by the Office of Marketing and Communication. It is published weekly during the academic year (except during the week of Thanksgiving, the Christmas break, Touring Week, and the Spring and Easter breaks).
